A recent Kingston Whig Standard story highlighted the mock moves that were held at Mental Health Services and St. Mary’s of the Lake Hospital to help staff prepare for the move to Providence Care Hospital on April 23. Below is a short excerpt from their story:
“We’ve been planning the move for about 18 months,” Wells Pearce said.
She said the purpose of the mock move-ins was to work through the logistics and actual timing of the inpatient transfers.
“Today was just to run through the routes and to make sure the assumptions we made about travel time, all the logistics associated with getting a patient from their bed at their existing hospital, whether they need to be put on a patient lift to be moved onto a stretcher or into a wheelchair, testing all the paperwork that goes with them,” Wells Pearce said.
