On Tuesday September 29th Providence Manor hosted all day events to support the Alzheimer Society.
We had our annual Coffee Break bake sale geared toward staff in the morning. It featured delicious baked goods made with generosity by staff, placement students, resident family members and Hildegarde Centre clients!
In the afternoon, the annual Alzheimer Society Tea Social was hosted, using the Home’s collection of tea cups and antique silver tea set. This is our resident/client focus event and they came out and enjoyed baked goods and live music while supporting this great cause.
Raffle baskets were generously donated by the Kingston branch of the Cineplex Odeon, local restaurant and resident favorite, Ramekins, and Lan Nail and Spa. These prizes were won by our Director of Care Regina Mitchell, and health care aide Theresa Lloyd!
This year was Providence Manor’s most successful Coffee Break event to date, and a grand total of $687.15 was raised!
It is exciting to see that each year we raise more than the last, and every year staff, clients and friends of our home come out in droves to support these fundraising efforts through baked good donations and raffle participation!
Providence Manor and the Hildegarde Centre are looking forward to the next fundraising event for the Alzheimer Society, the Walk for Alzheimers, which will be in early May 2016!
