When it comes to organizing engaging and meaningful activities to help improve the lives of the people we serve, the Volunteer Services team at PCH always go above and beyond. But not all activities happen within the hospital.
Chris O’Connor, Volunteer Coordinator, organizes outings for PCH patients and clients too. Like going on shopping trips or cheering on the Kingston Frontenacs at a hockey game.
With the help of recreation staff, 20 patients and clients visited Stone City Performance Horses in Glenburnie last week.
While on the farm they got to meet, pet and feed the horses.
“One of the best things about my job is organizing trips,” said Chris O’Connor, Volunteer Coordinator.
“I think it’s important to offer these outings. Many people are not able to get out on their own, so it gives our patients and clients something to look forward to.”
