Virtual Care Visit: Use of Video

To be successful in having a video care visit, you will need the following:

• A personal email address
• A tested tablet, smart phone or computer with camera, microphone and speakers
• Access to internet
• A private space for our conversation

You are responsible for the security of your own tablet, smart phone or computer. Providence Care cannot cover any data service costs associated with virtual video appointments.

Your privacy is very important to us. This is how Providence Care collects, uses, shares and protects your information:

• The methods we use for video care visits are secure.
• No video content is stored on the platform we use or in any other data storage area (e.g. iCloud).
• Virtual video health visits are not recorded.
• Everyone who is participating in a visit will be introduced at the beginning of the session.
• A written summary of the visit is documented in your Personal Health Information record just as it would be if you came to a Providence Care site or were visited by a Providence Care health care team member.
• Your information including the care you receive is confidential.

In accordance with Ontario’s Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA), Providence Care will collect your personal information, specifically your full name, telephone, and email address.  Registration invitations and appointment reminders will be sent to the personal email address you provided to us.  Sometimes technology does not work and there can be unexpected technical problems. If your visit is interrupted by those challenges, we will do our best to continue the visit by phone.
