Adult Day and Overnight Stay Care
Our Adult Day and Overnight Stay Care programs help adults living with dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, or physical disabilities stay active, connected, and supported. We offer care partners essential time to rest and recharge. The Adult Day Program runs Monday to Friday. The Overnight Stay Care program is provided in clients’ homes on weekends. Program fees apply.

- Benefit from engaging activities and personal care in a supportive environment
- To enable individuals to remain within their home environment
This program supports care partner relief and respite.

What to Expect
This program provides:
Personalized care plan:
Developed collaboratively by an interprofessional team, the goal is to maintain or improve cognitive and emotional well-being.
Therapeutic activities:
Engaging physical, social, cognitive and activities of daily living are provided.
Family and care partner involvement:
Encouragement for care partners to participate in care planning.
Key Benefits
Specialized care:
Personal care services and medication assistance is provided, along with nourishing meals and therapeutic activities.
Building connections:
Staying active and engaging in activities that boost memory, thinking skills, and emotional well-being.
Respite care for care partners:
Provides a period of care partner relief, along with education and resources.

Program Information
What to Bring
- Your Ontario Health Card
- Adaptive aids including walkers, wheelchairs, hearing aids, etc.
- A water bottle
- An up-to-date list of all medications you are taking using, including non-prescription, vitamin, and herbal preparations
You may bring and use cell phones and tablets; however, to protect the privacy of others, please do not take photos of people in the hospital without first asking permission. When using a device, please use headphones.
You are encouraged not to bring valuables. Providence Care is not responsible for the loss, theft or damage of any personal belongings.
What to Expect
- The program runs Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is located on the main level of Providence Transitional Care Centre.
- Upon arrival, turn right and the program entrance door is located on the right hand side. Staff will let you into the secure area when you ring the doorbell.

Hours of Operation
Our facilities operate 24/7, but building access and available services vary by location and time of day. Some entrances may be locked, and ID badge or intercom access may be required.
