COVID-19 Outbreaks Over on Montreal 4 at Providence Manor and Providence Transitional Care Centre
The COVID-19 outbreaks on Montreal 4 at Providence Manor and Level 2 at Providence Transitional Care Centre are now over.
Both outbreaks were declared over on May 5, 2022, because it’s been 10 days since a last confirmed positive case and no on-going transmission has occurred on Montreal 4 or at Providence Transitional Care Centre.
The outbreak on Montreal 4, a resident home area at Providence Manor, was originally declared on Apr. 1, after two residents tested positive for the virus.
The Providence Transitional Care Centre outbreak was declared on Level 2 on Apr. 21, after three patients tested positive for the virus.
All residents and patients on the impacted areas were placed on contact and aerosol precautions, monitored closely for symptoms and tested for the virus multiple times throughout the outbreak.
All staff members who worked at both sites were also tested for COVID-19 and participated in on-going surveillance testing for the duration of the outbreak.
Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington (KFL&A) Public Health has been alerted about the outbreaks being over, as have all residents, patients and their loved ones at both sites.
All quarantine precautions and measures in place as a result of the outbreaks have been lifted; however, safety measures remain in place across all Providence Care sites, including:
- All staff members are actively screened daily for COVID-19 symptoms. They continue to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), practice physical distancing and good hand hygiene.
- Anyone entering a Providence Care site is required to wear a mask, unless they have a medical exemption.
- All visitors must pass screening. If they do not pass screening, they will not be permitted to enter. Individuals who pass screening must wear a mask at all times for the duration of their visit.
