Rehabilitation is an inpatient program at Providence Care Hospital (PCH) that focuses on helping patients regain abilities following an injury, illness or disease, such as:
- stroke
- spinal cord injury
- acquired brain injury
- trauma
- hip fracture
What to expect
While at PCH you are required to participate in daily therapy with the duration, frequency and intensity dependent on the program you are in and your tolerance level.
What to bring
- Supportive shoes with good traction and secure fit are required to participate in therapy
- Comfortable, loose fitting clothing to wear to therapy
- Socks, nightwear and underwear
- Multiple changes of clothing
- Weather appropriate outdoor clothing such as a coat, sweater, sunhat and sunscreen
- Unscented personal hygiene products
Length of stay
Length of stay is time limited and will vary by individual patient needs, as determined by the interprofessional care team. Our interprofessional team continually assesses patients to ensure that the person is receiving the appropriate level of care in the right care setting.
Discharge and transfers
When you no longer require the level of specialized care provided in the inpatient hospital setting, the care team will work with you and your family to prepare for discharge.
