Resident Home Area Features
Providence Manor has six Resident Home Areas across Levels 3, 4, and 5, each with a dining room and lounge with a large-screen TV. Levels are divided between the Sydenham Street and Montreal Street sides.
Accommodation:Â 243 beds with private, semi-private, or basic rooms. Most rooms share a washroom with the adjoining room. Showers and therapeutic whirlpool tubs are available on each Home Area.
Secured Area: A secured Resident Home Area on Montreal 5 safeguards residents with Dementia or Alzheimer’s.
Resident Rooms
Rooms are bright, with large low windows and deep windowsills. Each room includes:
Bed (adjustable head, foot, and rails), mattress, pillow
Chest of drawers, bedside table, chair
Closet with hanging space, adjustable shelving, and top shelf
Shared washroom with cupboards, vanity mirror, towel bars, and grab bars
Climate Control
Dining rooms and lounges are air-conditioned, while corridors feature air-cooling.
To maintain efficiency, windows remain closed during warm weather so the Tempered Air system can operate effectively.
Room Air Conditioning
Window air conditioner units are available on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to residents who require them for health reasons.

Please note that air conditioning is not available in all areas of the Home.
Wheel Chairs and Scooters
Therapists assess and prescribe wheelchairs, walkers, and seating devices. All equipment is labeled, maintained, and tracked in a computerized inventory. The inventory is needed to help us provide routine maintenance and cleaning.
- Power Wheelchairs are allowed after a driving test on admission. Safe operation is required; unsafe use may result in substitution with a manual chair.
- Scooters are not permitted due to space limitations.

Providence Manor cannot accept donations of equipment due to liability reasons.
Room Cleaning and Maintenance
Housekeeping staff are on duty seven days a week to keep all areas of the Home clean and in good order.
Minor repairs, painting and preventative maintenance on equipment is done by our maintenance staff (Monday to Friday). Please notify the nurse in charge if there are repairs needed in your room.
