What to expect during an inpatient stay
Here are examples of what to expect on inpatient units at Providence Transitional Care Centre:Â
- There are whiteboards in each inpatient room. These boards make it easy for patients/clients and the care team to communicate with one another.Â
- Everyone who works or volunteers at PTCC wears an identification (ID) badge with their name and title, so you always know who you are speaking with. If you do not see an ID badge, please ask.Â
Inpatients and families are encouraged to:
- Talk openly about any questions or concerns they may have.Â
- Ask about and contribute to your care plan.Â
- Participate in establishing goals.Â
- Be actively involved in decisions about your care.Â
- Participate in therapies supporting your recovery.Â
Your Care Team
Providence Care is a centre for health education, teaching, and research. At Providence Transitional Care Centre, patients will receive care from a team of specialized, knowledgeable providers. Care teams include physicians, nursing and allied health staff, medical students and residents, learners, and researchers. Thank you for working with us to provide the next generation of health professionals with opportunities to learn and gain experience.
