On Saturday, June 3 we celebrated the opening of Providence Care Hospital with an outdoor celebration at Lake Ontario Park. The sun was shining, music was playing, and everyone had a great time!
Staff, physicians, patients and clients, volunteers, board members, the Sisters, and members of the community came together to celebrate having opened the doors to more than healthcare. We were also joined by Town Crier Chris Whyman who kicked off the day’s festivities! “It has been an incredible journey to get us where we are today: from the ground breaking three years ago, to substantial completion in December, to this sunny afternoon. It takes a community to build a hospital, and that is what we’ve done” said Peter Merkely, Chair of Providence Care’s Board of Directors.
The day included inflatables, face painting, ice cream, cotton candy, and a variety of other games and activities for all ages. We would like to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who helped to make Saturday’s event a success; your commitment and positive energy was appreciated!
