Providence Care sets sight on $50,000 fundraising goal for the United Way

“Every dollar counts.” This is the message being delivered by Kingston United Way’s 2017 Campaign Chair Pat Murphy. This year the United Way of KFL&A aims to raise $3,501,000, and Providence Care’s own workplace goal is to raise $50,000.

To help Providence Care staff achieve this goal, a variety of events are planned throughout the months of October and November. The events are open to the public, and we encourage you to come out and show your support!

Cake Auction & Raffle
Date: Friday, October 6
Time: 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Location: Beside the Donor Wall, Providence Care Hospital Level 1

An event that has been a staple of Providence Care’s workplace campaign for years, this is an event not to be missed. Traditionally, over 50 cakes or other baked good items are made and donated by staff in support of this fundraising event.

Live Music Yoga
Date: Wednesday, October 18
Time: 12:05 p.m. to 12:50 p.m.
Location: Founders’ Hall, Providence Care Hospital Level 2

Providence Care welcomes Joanna Castles, a certified Yoga Instructor at Moksha Yoga Kingston, to lead a 45-minute class accompanied by live music. The Yang/Yin class is suitable for all levels and we welcome and encourage everyone to join us. You can visit www.eventbrite.ca to register for this event.

We will also be holding a candy apple sale, chili lunch, and a variety of other fundraising events at both Providence Care Hospital and Providence Manor. For more information on upcoming fundraising events being planned in support of the United Way visit our  Facebook page or email info@providencecare.ca.

Last year over 55,000 people were helped by local agencies in the Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox & Addington areas. With your support, we can help even more people in our local communities. By donating just $2.00 a week (the cost of a morning coffee) the United Way can do amazing things like provide hot meals for 208 hungry people, or buy school supplies for 15 children.

Do you want to support Providence Care’s United Way Campaign? Donate today by visiting www.unitedwaykfla.ca and ensure you indicate that you wish to support Providence Care’s Staff Campaign. Every dollar counts.
