This year, Providence Care raised an impressive $50,123.80 for the United Way of Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox & Addington. For the 15th year in a row, Providence Care staff, physicians, board members and retirees made generous donations to our workplace campaign and helped us to surpass our $50,000 fundraising goal.
In addition to donations, and with the help of countless staff who volunteered their time, our campaign coordinators organized a cake auction and raffle, yoga classes, candy apple sale, soup and chili lunches and paint night all in support of the United Way.
On November 30, almost three months after the start of the campaign, organizations and workplaces from across KFL&A gathered at the Ambassador Hotel & Conference Centre to announce their fundraising totals.
At the campaign kick-off in September, Campaign Chair Pat Murphy said, “every dollar counts”. This message proved to be meaningful as the total for the 2017 United Way KFL&A campaign was revealed: $3,504,001.
Providence Care would like to thank the numerous donors who helped us in reaching our own workplace goal, and congratulate all of the organizations and workplaces across Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox & Addington for organizing successful campaigns; it is inspiring to see our community come together year after year to support this cause.
Providence Care’s values are closely aligned with the United Way’s commitment to supporting our local community. The United Way supports a network of agencies in KFL&A that help local people live with hope, dignity, and a sense of belonging. Last year over 55,000 people in the Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox & Addington region accessed services funded by the United Way.
