Referral Criteria: 18 years or older with a recent acute or sub-acute neurological condition requiring speech therapy for that condition (e.g. stoke, MS, spinal cord injury, acquired brain injury, ALS, etc.) or a recent decline in function requiring neurological speech therapy.
Type of Service: The service operates on a consultative model. This means that your speech language pathologist will provide assessment, therapy, education and counseling for adults with acquired communication impairment with the goal of improving the patient’s functional communication is his/her environment.
Length of Service: Service typically ranges from two to six sessions.
