Providence Care is launching a new initiative in 2016 designed to help prepare staff for the transition to the new hospital. The initiative is being led by Dawn Downey, Operational Readiness Leader and Clinical Subject Matter Experts, Theresa Beskers and Melanie Rudd.
“This is a really exciting opportunity for staff across Providence Care to build new working relationships, share pride in our work, and generate excitement for the future as we prepare to move into Providence Care Hospital,” said Theresa Beskers, Clinical Subject Matter Expert.
Theresa added that staff at all Providence Care sites, not just St. Mary’s of the Lake and Mental Health Services, can participate in the Staff Exchange.
“We have an opportunity for staff from different sites to learn from each other and that is a powerful way to help staff feel informed and included as we plan for the new hospital. That extends beyond just the two sites that will be moving to the new hospital.”
The Staff Exchange will let staff meet one-on-one with a host on a ‘walk and talk’ tour around the grounds of the new hospital. Staff will have the opportunity to share their work experience, enhance their understanding of Providence Care’s services and learn about the new hospital.
“Through this experience, staff not only get to see the progress of the build and learn about the new hospital, but it’s an opportunity to better understand both the diversity and the similarities across our organization and build relationships,” said Theresa. “When it comes to working together in the future, either at the new hospital or across sites, it will mean so much to see welcoming and smiling, familiar faces and be able to provide support to each other.”
Staff who are interested in participating in the exchange can indicate their interest by signing up online or emailing info@providencecare.ca for more information. The details of each exchange will be worked out with the individual staff member and their manager.
