Elisa Brietzke
Dr. Brietzke’s current work in Providence Care involves the study of the Effects and Mechanistic Aspects of Ketogenic Diet in Individuals with Major Depressive Disorder. Dr. Brietzke, an Associate Professor of Psychiatry, in Queen’s University, was first trained as an OB-Gyn and further completed her residency in Psychiatry in Brazil, where she had an accomplished trajectory as a clinician, researcher and educator. She is joining our Department as a Full Professor after a brief tenure at the University of Toronto.
I initiated the first program in Nutritional Psychiatry in Canada, conducting both observational and interventional studies. Throughout my career, I co-authored 286 documents which were cited more than 8,000 times with and H-Index of 45 (Scopus). I mentored or co-mentored 17 undergraduate students, 21 MSc/PhD students and 5 post-doctoral fellows.
