Dr. Jean Mathews is a palliative care physician from India. He moved to Canada in 2018 and completed a one-year clinical fellowship in palliative medicine at University Health Network, Toronto, and a two-year clinical research fellowship in palliative medicine at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, Toronto.
Jean’s work in Providence Care involves predicting length of stay areas of interest are global oncology palliative care, advanced pain management, and telehealth palliative care. He has been published in several peer-reviewed oncology and palliative care journals and he is working on research projects in Canada and in India, to improve access to early palliative care.
Jean is excited to join the palliative care team in Kingston and looks forward to developing local and global partnerships to improve palliative care integration. He is also a new dad, and he is excited about raising his family here. Since moving to Kingston, Jean has been trying to find the best spots for Biryani and Butter Chicken, and he hopes to find a good South Indian restaurant one day.
