Exploring virtual care clinical experience from non-physician healthcare providers (VCAPE)

Dr. Benjamin Ritsma and Dr. Nancy Dalgarno who are both Associate Researchers in Providence Care, were part of a team that co-authored a publication in the journal SSM – Qualitative Research in Health that highlighted the virtual care experience of non-physician clinicians. Clinicians who are not physicians had no training in virtual care; however, they have played an important role in helping patients receive virtual care during the pandemic. In this report, they highlight how clinicians were able to take on up to 3 times more patients, with faster referrals, collaboration between different disciplines in providing focused care.
