Why is Vocantas being implemented?
Vocantas will streamline the shift offer process for employees and the staff scheduling office.
What is the Shift Offer Process?
Shifts are sent out with a priority window and bids received within the priority window will be awarded based on the Call In Guidelines. If the shift remains available, bids received after the priority window ends will be awarded on a first come first serve basis.
What are the priority windows for shifts?
With VOCANTAS, shifts are sent out with a priority window and bids received within the priority window will be awarded based on the Call In Guidelines. If the shift remains available, bids received after the priority window ends will be awarded on a first come first serve basis.
What are the priority windows for shifts?
• 15 Minute window for shifts that begin less than 24 hours after shift offer;
• 1 hour window for shifts that begin more than 24 hours and less than 48 hours after shift offer;
• 6 hour window for shifts that begin more than 48 hours and less than 96 hours after shift offer;
• 24 hour window for shifts that begin more than 96 hours after shift offer.
How do I know if I have been awarded a shift?
If you are awarded a shift, then you will receive an award notification on the same communications channels that you received the original shift offer.
What happens if the ASF system goes down?
In the event of a system downtime, the Staff Scheduling Office will temporarily revert back to a prior shift offer process. The clerk will use the primary contact number the employee has listed in Employee Self-Serve in the case of a system problem. Employees are expected to ensure this number is up to date.
If I am going to be absent for my shift, who do I call?
There is no change to the current process for calling in. Please continue to the Staff Scheduling Office, ext. 51073.
How do I reset my password?
Your password is the same as your computer login. If you forget your password use the main login screen on your PCH computer to ‘unlock or reset’ your password. Alternatively follow regular process and contact the helpdesk at 613-544-4900 ext. 32550.
